A medal records the finish. A map remembers everything before it.

The climb you almost walked. The wind that would not stop. The section where your legs finally came back. The view you only reached because you kept moving. A route is not just a line, and a finisher memory should not look generic.

Detailed close view of relief islands and highlighted cycling routes

Not a flat poster. Terrain you can see and feel.

Each map begins with geographic elevation data and the route that matters to you. The landscape is shaped into a balanced relief composition, then the course is placed across the same ridges, valleys and coastlines you crossed.

The result is a physical record of place and effort. It works as wall art, but its meaning comes from the exact kilometres represented on it.

How custom route maps work
Finisher relief maps being prepared at Bearhill Lab

Finisher Maps started on the trails, not in a product meeting.

The idea began with my own 4Islands experience. Like so many riders, I reached the end with a medal, photographs, a GPS trace stored in an app and a head full of moments that were difficult to explain to anyone who had not been there.

What stayed with me was not only the distance. It was the geography. Exposed limestone above Baška, the sea always appearing beside the trail, ferries moving the race from one island to the next, long remote sections and the strange contrast between a beautiful Adriatic view and a course that keeps asking for more.

I wanted a memory that showed both the line we rode and the ground that made it hard. That thought became the first Finisher Map. The route was no longer buried in an activity feed. It sat across the real relief of the islands, with every coastline, ridge and stage still visible.

Finisher Maps now exists for other riders, runners and teams who feel the same way. You do not need to win a race for it to matter. Finishing the challenge you trained for is enough.

Made by a rider at Bearhill Lab, for people who remember every hard kilometre.

Four islands. Five stages.

Approximately 300 kilometres and 6,500 metres of climbing from Baška to Mali Lošinj. One island is demanding enough to host the race twice.

Stage 01

Krk

68 km | 1,500 m

Baška Bay, coastal paths, technical singletrack and the exposed Moon Plateau.

Stage 02

Krk

85 km | 1,850 m

The longest stage, with vineyards, fast gravel, sustained climbing and a return to Baška.

Stage 03

Cres

83 km | 1,900 m

A remote island stage from Merag to Cres through wild landscapes and changing terrain.

Stage 04

Unije

23 km | 350 m

A short individual time trial where power, precision and small gaps matter.

Stage 05

Lošinj

42 km | 1,000 m

A technical finale around Mali Lošinj, rocky summits, cliffs and Mediterranean trails.

Any trail can become a Finisher Map.

Send the GPX file, event link or basic route information. The base shape, base colour, route colours and text can all be adapted, with your rider name, team, club, sponsor or race branding included in the design.

From GPX file to finished relief.

You do not need to prepare production files. A GPX track or event page is enough for the first review.

Are the 4Islands maps official event merchandise?

No. Finisher Maps is an independent Bearhill Lab project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by 4Islands Epic, Epic Series, IRONMAN or any other event mentioned on this website.

Can you make a map from any GPX route?

Most recorded routes can be reviewed for a custom map. The best result depends on route length, surrounding terrain, desired size and the level of detail. Send the GPX file or a public activity link for an initial check.

Can I add my name, team and finishing time?

Yes. A custom plate or integrated text can include the event, year, rider name, team, finishing time, distance or a short personal message.

Can I arrange the 4Islands set differently?

Yes. Each tile uses the same connector system and complete sets include the connectors. You can rearrange the composition, display tiles separately and reconnect them later.

Can a club or event order a small quantity?

Yes. One sample or a small pilot series can be produced before a larger order. Pricing depends on size, personalisation, quantity and finishing requirements.

Where are the maps made and where do you ship?

Maps are made to order in Zagreb, Croatia. BOX NOW parcel locker delivery in Croatia is €2. Shipping to EU destinations starts at €10 and depends on the destination and parcel size.

Tell me which route matters.

Send the race or route name, year, the details you want on the map and the delivery country. A short message is enough for the first review.
